Yesterday, someone asked me if my family has any birthday traditions. The answer is no. My family never cared very much, but I do remember a few birthday highlights. I was given a birthday party in the back yard when I was ten years old. Two years later, my sister got married on my birthday, so I was just a bit overlooked, although I did get a stuffed animal--it was a white Yorkshire terrier with an AM radio in its stomach. I feel pretty certain that there would have been more candy in the other side if he had trick-or-treated around my neighborhood but it would have been a closer race. I voted (for real) on Saturday morning because I just knew it would be a madhouse at the Community building on Tuesday. We'd already had 23,000 voters in our county come through when J and I went Sat. I think the turnout is going to beat American Idol this year-bahha. I know the ending but I'll try my best not to be a poor loser come Wednesday. :{
