The Kid Can Cook

Daughter No. 1 is getting ready to go back to college for another year of higher learning. This year she will be living in an apartment for the first time, and she will be feeding herself without the help of a campus food plan.

In an effort to offer her guidance from two hours away, I have started a new blog where I will be posting recipes that are simple enough and quick enough for a busy student, or a group of busy students, to prepare. The way I see it, if you give them complicated recipes that take hours to prepare, they won't even pick up a wooden spoon for stirring. So, I'll keep it easy and fast but as fresh and balanced as possible.

Go see for yourself here.

What a great mom! Awesome recipes. Maybe Fr. C. could try one out on me.

Indeed, an incredible mother and what a great idea. You really are a gem, Robyn and I might have to pop into that site on a daily basis myself. It is too difficult for me to stand around for hours in the kitchen since my spinal fusion so quick and easy recipes are wonderful.

Yummy!
Other than the … ahem … chocolate chip cookies, it is all lovely and healthy. Hee hee.

Actually, DD, I think this was No. 1's idea. She will be posting to it, too, as she finds things, so everything will be kept in one safe place.

Mme Benaut, I don't have the back issues you have, but I do have trouble with my back now and then, so I know about not wanting to stand in the kitchen for too long. I am searching for things that take no long than 30 to 40 minutes.

Alifan, I hope you find something you like. We are trying not to include "kid" food.

Dive, hey, everybody needs a chocolate chip cookie now and then. They're good for the soul.

This is great - thanks, Robyn. Time is always an issue, so tasty, quick recipes are really valuable!
What a great idea!! I will be checking this blog some nights for good ideas to cook myself.
