Monday Melee

I forget to do this from week to week, but here is another Monday Melee:

1. The Misanthtropic: Name something (about humanity) you absolutely hate.
I am not wild about our tendency to be socially insecure--all those people aren't judging you because they're too busy judging themselves.

2. The Meretricious: Expose something or someone that’s phony, fraudulent or bogus.
I don't think God will double your money if you donate cash to somebody on television. Besides, the purpose of generosity is not to get a benefit in return.

3. The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with.
I am unhappy with the policy of designing by committee, and I am unhappy that I have to replace an illustration on a book cover that I think is perfect. There, I said it.

4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.
My neighbor/dear friend Jane threw a party for her son's graduation that took a heck of a lot of work. Even though she knew it would be a killer job, she stuck to her guns and threw a great bash. It was perfect. Plus, I loaned her four serving spoons, and she returned five. Good deal.

5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it.
I have a nice laugh, so people say anyway.

6. The Make-Believe: Name something you wish for.
I can't read this statement without hearing Howard Keel singing in Show Boat, but that has nothing to do with the task at hand. I wish mosquitoes didn't bite. How's that for a thinking big?

God may well not double your money if you give it to somebody on TV but it appears He gives you a free spoon if you're bitten by a mosquito.
It's Monday and I'm all confused.

Re: 1. Excellent point, Robyn!! One more reason not to worry about what other people think. :)

Perhaps God could take away mosquito bites if you donate to the nice man on the TV?

Good deal indeed.

designing by committee sounds as frustrating as my tafe course and their insistance that we do assignments in groups. i hate that.
