This is the view from the window in my new office. It's bleak in winter, but during the summer, it's kind of nice with full green trees and a picnic table. Here is the list of animals I have encountered in this parking lot/front yard over the years (I worked in this office for quite a few years before being allowed to settle into my home office):
Deer
A cow which wandered away from a farm that must be just over the hill. It actually wore a bell.
A chicken which I assume came from the same farm. It hogged an entire parking space, and I had to park further up the hill while it decided which way was home.
Black snakes. Several years in a row, these icky creatures made a nest right by the front door every spring until someone would either club them with a shovel or relocate them to a less populated spot. At the first spotting, a general e-mail went around saying that "our friend" was back, and I would spend the next week or two afraid to cross the threshold and afraid to get in my car in case the thing had crawled up into the engine and would slither down into the passenger seat when I was going 70 mph down the road. I hate snakes as much as I hate spiders, but at least I can squash a spider.
Hawks
Bunnies, unless the hawks are out
A half dozen or so flying squirrels which I put there myself. I trapped them in my attic and relocated them to the office yard because I was pretty sure they wouldn't be able to travel 15 miles back to my house to poop in my insulation and chew on my wiring.
It's a regular wild-life sanctuary, and now I get to look at it four days a week. Yay for me.

A good trend.
And snakes? Ew!
And WOW! You got Peter Frampton to post FIRST!!!! You LUCKY DUCK!
Anyone know the London suburb he hails from?
A black-with-ivory-inlay Gibson Les Paul PF Model for the right answer!
Divey Boy!!!! HURRY! I KNOW you stand a CHANCE! But naaaaaaaaaa, what could you POSSIBLY do with a guitar like THAT?!?
I like the shot now...very Wintery...not like here in CA where the flowers never die! LOL!
;)
Gina, there is that sad side to watching them hunt, but they are fascinating birds. We have an osprey nest at the lake that is wonderful to watch during the summer.
Ame, HI!!! I would be honored if Peter Frampton were to comment, but PF, in this case, stands for Pianist Friend.
Good view though. What is it that you do in the office?
and i miss eating at "the depot place that keeps changing hands." the british woman and her purple sweater.
Lovely to hear about all the wildlife. I don't really miss the nasties from Oz but they certainly have their rightful place in the world. Tokyo is full of crows and cats. The crows are HUGE but quite beautiful, although a bit tatty up close, as are all the stray cats. It breaks my heart.
