Sassy, I wonder what people outside the US would call it. What is there term for a "lazy Susan." I assume we'll find out.

Rich, HA! I did not organize it. There is no order, and things are stacked up and ready to topple.

Wow Robyn... what a great lazy susan , yes we do call them that here, I would so love such a great size cupboard with one of those in, instead of having to claw everything out everytime I wanted to use them...

I take it that Dive has posted a picture of his old spice rack....(I am not allowed to see his blog), but gather from yours and Ame's posts what is going on...

How times have changed, I remember when Dive and his brother would only eat what they called proper food... now they both cook such great food... lots of spices....I do hope I have been an influence on them in a good way for a change....

Nice and busy; and yes, we'd call that a Lazy Susan (unless our name were Susan in which case we'd insist it was a spice rack).

And Mum's exaggerating: she's got a very well laid out kitchen from which she does her wedding cakes and outside catering, but like me "there's never enough space" (now you see where I get it from).

You Just Never Know

This newspaper gig has brought some interesting things. Because of it, I have met all kinds of people and learned all kinds of things. I have interviewed a potter, a stained glass artist, a horse barn owner, Guatemalan immigrants, winery operators and a woman with two uteruses. That last one may seem odd, but she's one of the few women in the world who has given birth to surviving twins, each developing in its own womb (you can see the adorable kids and read the article here ). I have learned about antique steamer trunks, dandelion wine, the history of steel drums and that people in Papua New Guinea are being evacuated from their island because of rising sea levels. I've read books on the repercussions of factory farming, and I've researched childhood obesity—did you know that Ohio ranks 17th on a list of US states in order of weight? Cindy Loo Who In October

What is it with people and Cindy Loo Who? Of my last one hundred blog hits, forty have been direct visits from regular readers, and fifteen have been as a result of people searching for "Cindy Loo Who," the little pixie from Seuss's How The Grinch Stole Christmas . A couple of years ago, I posted an image of the original Seuss illustration as compared to the TV cartoon image, and for some reason, that post is bringing in the crowds, relatively. Maybe it's the weather. It isn't even November yet, and already we've had frost and have had to dust off our winter coats. When it gets cold like this, I start to think about Christmasy things like listening to Nat King Cole and decorating the tree.
